Apeiranthos

Visit the marble village with its stone-built houses, with its own traditions, with its own products, with the important Greeks who were born here. “Aperanthos” as the locals call it is the village of Manolis Glezos, who was also the president of the community in the 1980s. It is also the birthplace of Petros Protopapadakis, who was the Prime Minister of Greece and one of the 6 executed in the Trial of the Six, immediately after the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
What impresses about Apeiranthos is that it has preserved its architectural form almost intact, which dates back to the Venetian era. After all, the entire village is classified as a traditional settlement. Perhaps the pride of this architecture in Apeiranthos is the tower of Zevgolis. It is impossible not to see it if you come here as it is built at the entrance to the village. An impressive 17th-century building built on a rock. But that is not the only thing that will impress you, as the entire village is crossed by marble cobblestones with arched arches, beautiful stone houses and towers.
